Adam Olaniyan is poised to make history as he aims to become the first Irish-born heavyweight champion of the world. The 19-year-old boxer has the backing of renowned manager Brian Peters, who has successfully guided Irish talents such as Katie Taylor and the celebrated Bernard Dunne. Peters is optimistic about Olaniyan’s career trajectory, stating that the young fighter possesses all the necessary attributes for success.

“Adam is an incredibly exciting talent and the world is his oyster,” Peters said. He emphasized the importance of nurturing Olaniyan’s talent while being mindful of his age. “Of course we have to be conscious of his age and take our time with his development, but he has all the attributes to become the first Irish-born world heavyweight champion,” he added.

As Olaniyan transitions into the professional arena, he will be promoted by veteran fight maker Frank Warren. Warren expressed enthusiasm about the young heavyweight’s potential, dismissing concerns over his early switch from amateur to professional boxing. “I am thrilled to bring Adam to Queensberry, and he is clearly a very special and gifted young heavyweight who excelled as an amateur,” Warren said. He noted that the current boxing landscape is ripe for Olaniyan to make his mark.

March 14, 2026, will mark Olaniyan’s professional debut at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, during a boxing event that coincides with St. Patrick’s Day activities. Warren assured fans that Olaniyan’s training will be tailored to maximize his development. “Every fighter is different, and we will bring Adam along at the correct pace and make sure he gets all the experience he needs,” he explained.

Olaniyan joins the ranks of other Irish heavyweights, including Thomas Carty and Daniel Fakoyede, both of whom are also pursuing world title opportunities. Carty, in particular, views himself as a strong contender for the historic title, having previously been a two-time underage world amateur champion and an Olympic hopeful.

With a promising career ahead, Olaniyan and his team are determined to cultivate his potential in the ring. As he embarks on this new chapter, the eyes of the boxing world will undoubtedly be on the young talent from Jobstown BC, as he aims to elevate Irish boxing to new heights.
