Una Healy Launches Exciting Country Music Competition on RTÉ

Irish singer Una Healy recently appeared on RTÉ’s Late Late Show, where she announced a new music competition aimed at discovering emerging country talent in Ireland. “We’re looking for someone who’s a great singer, wants to perform, wants to be an artist, but hasn’t had the opportunity or platform to get out there,” Healy explained to Kielty. She emphasized the need for authenticity in submissions, stating, “We don’t want any trickery involved, no autotune, just completely raw and organic.”

Entrants can showcase their talents by performing either an original song or a cover. Videos must be submitted online by March 17, 2024, with rehearsals and performances scheduled for April 16 and 17, 2024. The selected winner will have the opportunity to feature on the upcoming Late Late Show Country Special.

As the competition unfolds, Healy remains excited to discover new voices within the country music genre. She will return to the show in April to judge the shortlisted contestants, focusing on originality and talent.
