Urgent: Daughters of Irishman Seamus Culleton Speak Out on ICE Detention
UPDATE: The twin daughters of Irishman Seamus Culleton have broken their silence, revealing alarming threats directed at them following their father’s detention by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). 19-year-old sisters Heather and Melissa Morrissey were warned they would never see their father again if they spoke out.
The urgent revelations come after Extra.ie reported last week on Culleton’s impending drug charges in Ireland. This new layer of complexity adds to the shock as the sisters claim their father has ‘abandoned’ them since they were toddlers.
In a disturbing turn, the twins allege they received a message from a family acquaintance after Heather commented on a GoFundMe page set up for Culleton’s legal defense. The message warned that their public comments could jeopardize his Green Card application and his chance for release. This creates a chilling atmosphere for the sisters as they navigate their father’s legal battle.
“Well then, good luck seeing Seamus because they will keep him in. Is that what you want?”
Heather expressed her outrage, saying, “I found the whole thing insulting.” The sisters assert that Culleton’s public persona does not reflect the man they know, insisting he has done “no wrong.” They also revealed their mother has not received any child support from him since he left.
The twins are frustrated with their father’s choice to go public while facing serious charges in Ireland, including possessing drugs with intent to sell. Culleton, currently detained in El Paso, Texas, called a local radio program to describe his conditions, likening them to a “modern-day concentration camp.”
Heather added, “I was shocked. It’s funny how he can contact the news but not his daughters.” She mentioned that her father only reached out once since his detention.
On September 9, 2025, Culleton was arrested by ICE after entering the U.S. under the visa waiver program in 2009, which allowed him to stay for only 90 days. He failed to leave in time and now faces a final deportation order, according to Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
“He received full due process and was issued a final order of removal by an immigration judge on September 10, 2025,”
McLaughlin emphasized that Culleton’s continued detention is a result of his own choices, stating, “Being in detention is a choice.” The U.S. government is currently offering a financial incentive of $2,600 for illegal aliens to self-deport, a situation that puts even more pressure on Culleton and his family.
The story has sparked outrage and empathy, prompting many to question the implications of such actions on familial relationships in the face of legal consequences. The twins, feeling abandoned, urge public awareness of their plight, stating, “He should come back here and get arrested.”
This developing story raises critical questions about immigration policies and their impact on families. As the situation unfolds, all eyes will be on Culleton’s legal proceedings and the ongoing struggles faced by his daughters.
For updates on this urgent case, stay tuned as we continue to follow the developments surrounding Seamus Culleton and his family.
