James Talarico Emerges as Front-Runner in Texas Senate Race

As the night unfolded on March 5, 2024, in Texas, James Talarico positioned himself as the leading candidate in the Democratic primary for the Senate. With approximately 70 percent of the statewide vote counted, he was leading with around 868,000 votes, compared to Crockett’s 780,000, translating to about 52 percent to 46.7 percent. Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal noted his anxiety regarding U.S. troop deployment, stating, “I just want to say that I am more fearful than ever after this briefing that we may be putting boots on the ground.”
