ALDI Ireland has announced an immediate reduction in prices for its own-brand butter products. The price of the 454g pack of Kilkeely Pure Irish Creamery Butter will drop from €3.99 to €3.39, representing a saving of €0.60. Similarly, the 227g pack of Kilkeely Pure Irish Creamery Butter and the Kilkeely Unsalted Irish Butter will each see a price decrease of €0.30.

This announcement follows recent moves by other retailers. On December 28, 2025, SuperValu and Centra, both part of The Musgrave Group, revealed they would reduce prices on their own-brand Irish butter products by up to 15 percent. ALDI has reached out to major competitors, including Dunnes Stores, Tesco, and Lidl, inquiring whether they will implement similar price reductions.

Commitment to Competitive Pricing

Niall O’Connor, Country Managing Director of ALDI Ireland, emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to providing value to customers. He stated, “This reduction is the latest in our ongoing dedication to price cuts on household essentials.” O’Connor further asserted, “ALDI will never be beaten on price, which is why we’ve been cutting the prices of hundreds of products right across our range over recent months as we continue to deliver on our promise to our customers.”

The company plans to monitor market trends daily to maintain its position as a leading value retailer in Ireland. This price adjustment is part of a broader trend among major retailers in the country. In October, ALDI, Lidl, Tesco, SuperValu, and Dunnes Stores all reduced prices for their own-brand milk products, bringing the cost of a two-litre bottle to €2.35 and a one-litre bottle to €1.19.

As ALDI continues to adjust its pricing strategies, consumers can expect to see ongoing changes aimed at enhancing affordability for everyday essentials. The company’s proactive approach reflects a competitive retail landscape where price sensitivity remains high among shoppers.
