Consumers are advised to refrain from consuming the cheese, which is sold in 200g packs.
The affected batch has the number 4564914 and a use by date of March 2, 2026. Symptoms associated with Listeria infection may include mild flu-like symptoms, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. In certain cases, the infection can lead to severe health complications. Health Risks and Recommendations
The Health Protection Agency has emphasized the importance of proper food safety measures. Consumers who have purchased the recalled cheese are urged to check their products for the specified batch number. If in possession of this batch, they should not consume it and instead return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Wholesalers and distributors are also advised to remove the affected batch from sale immediately. They are expected to display point-of-sale recall notices to inform customers of the potential risk associated with the product.
The recall is effective immediately, as the health and safety of consumers remain a top priority. The Food Safety Authority of Ireland continues to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as necessary.
Consumers are reminded to maintain vigilance when purchasing food products and to report any adverse health reactions to their healthcare provider. This incident underscores the critical importance of adhering to food safety standards to prevent contamination and protect public health.
