Urgent Recall of Popular Moringa Supplement in Ireland Due to Health Risk
A significant health warning has been issued regarding the popular supplement, Rosabella Moringa 100% Pure, which has been sold in Ireland. Specific batches of this product have been urgently recalled due to the potential contamination with Salmonella. The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has confirmed that consumers should check their cupboards and avoid using the affected batches.
The product, which is packaged in white plastic bottles containing 60 capsules, is known for its use as a herbal supplement. Moringa is often marketed for various health benefits, including enhancing energy levels, boosting the immune system, and providing antioxidants. It is also taken for its potential anti-inflammatory properties and overall wellness support.
According to Ambrosia Brands, LLC, the manufacturer, the recalled batches may pose a serious health risk. The batch code can be found at the bottom of the bottles, printed as the middle seven digits above the expiry date. The affected batches have best-before dates ranging from March 2027 to November 2027.
The FSAI has issued a clear warning to consumers: “People infected with Salmonella typically develop symptoms between 12 and 36 hours after infection, but this can range from six to 72 hours. The most common symptom is diarrhoea, which can sometimes be bloody. Other symptoms may include fever, headache, and abdominal cramps.” The agency emphasizes that the illness usually lasts between four to seven days, with some cases requiring hospitalization, especially among vulnerable populations such as the elderly, infants, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
Retailers and wholesalers have been instructed to remove the implicated batches from their shelves and notify customers immediately. They are also required to display recall notices at points of sale to ensure consumers are aware of the risk.
The FSAI advises anyone who may have purchased these products to refrain from consumption and monitor for any symptoms associated with Salmonella. As this recall unfolds, the health and safety of consumers remain the top priority for authorities.
In light of this incident, consumers are encouraged to stay informed about product recalls and to report any adverse health effects to health authorities.
