Neg8 Carbon Partners with Prochem to Launch Carbon Capture Project

Neg8 Carbon has entered into a partnership with Prochem Engineering to develop Ireland’s first full-scale carbon capture system. This collaboration, announced on January 16, 2026, aims to define the specifications for a project that will implement Neg8 Carbon‘s innovative direct air capture (DAC) technology. The initial module will be constructed at the company’s headquarters in Waterford and is projected to capture up to 50 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.

The initiative is part of a broader strategy by Neg8 Carbon, which specializes in creating electrostatic DAC technology designed to effectively remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. This technology is crucial for industries striving to meet net-zero emissions targets and combat climate change. The agreement with Prochem Engineering is anticipated to enhance the affordability, efficiency, and scalability of the DAC system, paving the way for its international commercial deployment.

Neg8 Carbon‘s electrostatic DAC technology operates by drawing air through a specialized sorbent system that effectively attracts and captures carbon dioxide molecules. Once captured, these molecules can either be securely stored underground or transformed into sustainable products, such as climate-neutral aviation fuel.
