Stripe Launches Sponsorship of Young Scientist Exhibition in Dublin
The 2023 Stripe Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition (YSTE) officially opened at the RDS in Dublin today, marking an exciting milestone as Stripe, a prominent Irish-American financial technology company, begins its sponsorship of the annual event. Founded by Tipperary brothers John and Patrick Collison, Stripe has a personal connection to the exhibition, having been former winners themselves.
This year’s exhibition showcases a variety of innovative projects from young scientists across the country. Attendees can expect to see presentations on topics ranging from environmental sustainability to advancements in technology, reflecting the diverse interests and talents of the participants.
In a statement, John Collison, co-founder of Stripe, expressed his enthusiasm for the sponsorship. He remarked, “We’ve come full circle,” highlighting the significance of supporting a platform that once fostered his own scientific curiosity. The brothers’ involvement underscores the importance of nurturing young talent and encouraging future innovators.
The Stripe sponsorship will enhance the visibility and resources available to the exhibition, ensuring that students receive the recognition they deserve. Attendees, which include educators, industry leaders, and families, are eager to engage with the young innovators and learn about their groundbreaking ideas.
As part of the exhibition, participants compete for various awards, scholarships, and opportunities to advance their scientific endeavors. This year, the exhibition expects to attract a record number of visitors, further emphasizing the growing interest in science and technology among young students in Ireland.
The event runs from January 11 to January 14, 2023, and aims to inspire the next generation of scientists and technologists. With Stripe’s support, the Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition is set to continue its legacy of fostering creativity and innovation among young minds.
