Thai Masseuse Takes Stand Against Sexual Harassment, Reports to Garda
UPDATE: In a shocking turn of events, Yosita Fitzpatrick, a Thai masseuse in Letterfrack, Galway, has stopped accepting male clients after being inundated with inappropriate sexual requests. The qualified therapist reported these incidents to the Gardai and has vowed to take further action against harassment.
Since establishing Connemara Thai Massage in October 2025, Fitzpatrick has faced a barrage of calls and messages from men soliciting “happy endings” and sending unsolicited explicit images. “These requests began the second I started taking bookings,” she stated on Liveline, revealing that the negative attention has severely affected her mental health.
Fitzpatrick disclosed that approximately 60 percent of her previous clientele were female, with just 40 percent male, primarily local residents. However, the situation escalated to the point where she felt compelled to refuse male customers altogether. “I am fully aware that the phrase ‘Thai women’ evokes unfair stereotypes,” she expressed, emphasizing her dedication to therapeutic work.
In a heartfelt plea, she explained, “I heal people. This is my purpose, and I do not want to walk away from it.” She acknowledged the unfairness of this decision, recognizing that many respectful men will miss out on her services due to the actions of a few.
Fitzpatrick has announced that any future inappropriate messages will be forwarded directly to the Gardai. “All I ask for is simple: respect. Do not send me messages of that nature,” she asserted, highlighting the importance of maintaining professional boundaries.
The Gardai confirmed they received a report concerning this incident on February 13, 2026, stating that inquiries are ongoing. Authorities are likely to investigate the nature and volume of these harassment claims, as Fitzpatrick continues to prioritize her safety and mental well-being.
As this situation unfolds, the implications for both local businesses and the broader community are significant. Many may now question the safety of service-oriented professions, particularly for women in vulnerable sectors.
Fitzpatrick’s courage to speak out sheds light on a pervasive issue that many women face and is a reminder that respect and professionalism should always be upheld in any workplace.
This developing story underscores the urgent need for awareness around harassment in the service industry. Stay tuned for more updates as authorities continue to investigate.
