DLDC Seeks Applications for Four Community Officer Positions

Donegal Local Development CLG (DLDC) has announced an open call for applications for four community officer roles aimed at enhancing local development efforts in the Donegal area. Established in 1995, DLDC focuses on delivering various externally funded programmes that support community growth and social inclusion.

The available positions include a Community Development Project Officer, an Employment Support Officer, and a Lifelong Learning Project Officer, all of which play vital roles within the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP). Each position is designed to empower disadvantaged communities and facilitate personal and community development.

Position Details and Responsibilities

The Community Development Project Officer will work within the SICAP Goal 1 framework, which emphasizes empowering disadvantaged communities. This role involves engaging with community groups, providing advice, mentoring, and facilitating workshops. Candidates are required to have a recognised third-level qualification or a minimum of three years of relevant experience in community development.

The Employment Support Officer will contribute to SICAP Goal 2, which focuses on assisting individuals facing barriers to employment, particularly those who are socially excluded. This position is integral to the SICAP Employment and Enterprise team. Applicants must possess a recognised qualification or three years of relevant experience in employment support, alongside a strong commitment to principles of equality and social inclusion.

The Lifelong Learning Project Officer will also operate under SICAP Goal 2, concentrating on lifelong learning initiatives. This role aims to enhance individuals’ skills and confidence in education and personal development. Candidates should hold a relevant third-level qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role, with a track record in adult training support.
